The Miss Rodeo Colorado organization and pageant competition exists for the purposes of selecting a young lady to serve as an official spokesperson for the sport of professional rodeo in the state of Colorado and providing educational opportunities for those young women who compete in the pageant.
Miss Rodeo Colorado travels some 50,000 miles during the year of her reign, appearing at nearly 100 rodeo performances, as well as appearances at schools, civic groups and other special events, educating the public and creating awareness about the sport of rodeo, its sponsors, and its opportunities.
Talented and well-spoken, Miss Rodeo Colorado is the ideal ambassador to represent and promote Colorado’s Original Professional Sport – rodeo – which originated in Colorado. She also takes on the role of spokesperson in a variety of promotional events and , publications, sponsors and other service providers to the western industry. At the end of her reign, Miss Rodeo Colorado joins more than 30 other states in competing to represent rodeo nationally as Miss Rodeo America. The Miss Rodeo America Pageant takes place in conjunction with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas at the Tropicana Resort and Casino.
